Dreams

music: Sigur Rós - Saeglopur

I've had this strange recurring dream for 3 or 4 times to count. Though the surrounding looks alike everytime, but I'm always dealing with a very different situation from the previous. I was standing on a bridge built across a calm sea connecting two lands. The sun was setting and casting an eerie orange black glow on the surface of the sea. The bridge was a three-lane highway to be precise. However, at that time, there were no vehicles to be found. Then, I started walking. Looking around, there were a number of people comprising children and adults standing idly. And this walk was never ending! Sometime ago, I dreamt that I was being chased down the highway in the same environment, minus the humans.

Usually, my dreams have a dark mood to it which I find very disturbing whenever I woke up. It could be set on a very gloomy day or it is happening at night. A dream I had that I couldn't erase from my mind was that of a gloomy evening I spent in an amusement park. Lugging an old camera of my grandpa's, I was attempting to photograph a boy who seemed to be yo-yoing above me. When his happy smiling face was about 5 inches from mine, I tried to take a snapshot but I was too slow and he was sort of pulled up again. This process repeated a few times until I finally gave up. Suddenly, I was out on the street at night that appeared to be a scene from the Batman movie when Bruce's parents were murdered. I could feel my excitement at that moment. I was actually heading to a camera shop to purchase a new one. I realised that I was in the 70s when I looked across the street at the camera shop, the crowd and those antique cameras on display. My vision started to lose colour before turning completely black and white. That's when I woke up.

Yarr..freaky. Nevertheless, the good part about that dream was the range of emotions which I went through and could still feel when I woke up. From bliss to disappointment to eagerness.

Sigur Rós is awesome.
