Bootlegs!

music: Sigur Rós - Svefn G Englar

Fantastic 4 with some notable casts like Jessica Alba and Julian McMahon.
House of Wax with teen soap drama casts ie Chad Murray and Jared Padalecki. And um, *cough* Paris Hilton.

I initially thought that Fantastic Four will fare much better than The House of Wax. After all, how many more scare tactics could the director throw into. They're pretty much used up in most horror movies. Novelty is dead. That is my perception after a decade plus of watching horror movies since I was 3. There aren't any horror movies lately that could make me grip on the seat and watch in anticipation what to come next. But that was exactly the effect of The House of Wax had on me. The opening was brilliant. I love the realistic images that was incorporated into the movie. Punctures, cuts and blood spurtings were vividly shown. And most importantly, the storyline was unpredictable. None of the stereotype formula: lost with no way out, wonder off into a freaky unknown place, got themselves killed by sicko, run, scream, run, one remain to see the daylight. Though the last applies to HoW, nevertheless, the ending was interesting. I don't often get to see a house melts like butter with our heroes fighting their way out by digging a hole through the wax wall and wait for the wall to crumble before reaching the ground to safety. Heh.

Whereas Fantastic Four was a major dissapoinment. The story itself is stupid. Jessica Alba's character was made to do some dumb things. Why did she has to turn invisible and humiliate herself to get to Ben when her other two sidekicks could just pushed through the crowd? How the hell did Reed came up with the storm generator within a short period and without any fund? If he had the money, he wouldn't have to go to Von Doom in the first place. The movie was simply ridiculous.

Good casts, bad movie and vice versa.

Out Of Steam

music: James Blunt - You're Beautiful

Yesterday,
8pm: Body was warming up to a high temperature but the skin felt cold :\ Turned off the fan but started to sweat. Turned the fan back on. Pull on a lumberjack long sleeve, a cup of hot chocolate in hand...tried to squeeze whatever remains into the brain for the upcoming Physics paper.
12am: Brain saturated. Likened that to a soggy sponge. Absorption rate - zero. Got into bed with an aching body and tired limbs.

Today,
6.30am: Woke up not feeling much better. Went to school to sit for Physics paper under feverish condition.
11am: Exam. Brain was jumbled with equations. Output - zero percent.
1.30pm: Reached home with a throbbing headache. Drank coffee to replenish caffeine level in the system.

Currently: Updating blog and checking news feeds before revising for the last paper.

Tomorrow,
Hibernation.

Pre-Examination Syndrome

music: Sigur Rós - Olsen Olsen

I haven't use the computer for four days. It's good to know that I'm able to curb my addiction to surfing websites. Unfortunately another addiction has cropped up since then. My huge appetite for caffeine. I can go on drinking three cups of coffee in a day but I limit myself to two the most. This unhealthy addiction is triggered from a stressful examination period. In an attempt to revise one a half years worth of syllabus for four subjects in two weeks, caffeine keeps me working 16 hours a day. No naps in the afternoon, sleeping time prolonged to 1am and waking up as early as 6.30am. 5 1/2 hours rest is sufficient with the extra boost from caffeine. One more week to endure before the examination ends.. time to restock my Nescafe.

I felt like surfing porns. Damn those exam stress.

Dreams

music: Sigur Rós - Saeglopur

I've had this strange recurring dream for 3 or 4 times to count. Though the surrounding looks alike everytime, but I'm always dealing with a very different situation from the previous. I was standing on a bridge built across a calm sea connecting two lands. The sun was setting and casting an eerie orange black glow on the surface of the sea. The bridge was a three-lane highway to be precise. However, at that time, there were no vehicles to be found. Then, I started walking. Looking around, there were a number of people comprising children and adults standing idly. And this walk was never ending! Sometime ago, I dreamt that I was being chased down the highway in the same environment, minus the humans.

Usually, my dreams have a dark mood to it which I find very disturbing whenever I woke up. It could be set on a very gloomy day or it is happening at night. A dream I had that I couldn't erase from my mind was that of a gloomy evening I spent in an amusement park. Lugging an old camera of my grandpa's, I was attempting to photograph a boy who seemed to be yo-yoing above me. When his happy smiling face was about 5 inches from mine, I tried to take a snapshot but I was too slow and he was sort of pulled up again. This process repeated a few times until I finally gave up. Suddenly, I was out on the street at night that appeared to be a scene from the Batman movie when Bruce's parents were murdered. I could feel my excitement at that moment. I was actually heading to a camera shop to purchase a new one. I realised that I was in the 70s when I looked across the street at the camera shop, the crowd and those antique cameras on display. My vision started to lose colour before turning completely black and white. That's when I woke up.

Yarr..freaky. Nevertheless, the good part about that dream was the range of emotions which I went through and could still feel when I woke up. From bliss to disappointment to eagerness.

Sigur Rós is awesome.
